It’s time for your child to move from the toddler room to Preschool! How exciting…
If you have any questions please contact Carrie-Anne (Preschool Room Leader & SENCO) via Famly or email senco@whittington-preschool.co.uk
At Preschool we are all about promoting independence!
Below are a few of the things we encourage day to day that you can work on at home
Using the toilet independently and asking for help when needed (Girls - are they confident with pulling tights up and down?)
Putting on a coat/jacket (Top tip - lay the coat on the floor and ask your child to stand by the hood/collar then put their arms in and flip it over their head!)
Washing hands independently and making sure they’re dry
Being able to identify own belongings such as shoes, jumpers, cardigans, hats
Using cutlery at meal times (In Preschool we have child sized stainless steel cutlery)
Drinking from an open cup without spilling
Pouring a drink from a jug
Washing up our own cups after snack and meal times
Putting on own shoes
Being able to recognise own name
Uniform
Our Preschool children wear a plain, royal blue uniform. Typically the children wear:
A royal blue jumper or cardigan
A white polo shirt
Grey or black trousers/shorts/skirts
Black shoes
Blue checked dresses in the summer
All of the uniform can be found in supermarkets or shops such as Matalan or Next. Don’t forget to label everything with your child’s name!
